Colonel Paul T. Calvert is a 1988 distinguished military graduate of North
Georgia College and was commissioned as an Armor officer.
COL Calvert's initial assignment was 3d Squadron, 2d Armored Cavalry
Regiment, Amberg, Germany as a tank and scout Platoon Leader in K Troop and
then as the Executive Officer of I Troop where he deployed in support of
Operation Desert Shield/Storm. In 1992, he was assigned to the 3d Armored
Cavalry Regiment in El Paso, Texas as Assistant Regimental S4, 2d Squadron
S4; Commander of E Troop, and Regimental Headquarters and Headquarters
Troop. In 1996, he was assigned to the United States Army Personnel Command
in Alexandria, Virginia as the Armor Branch Chief for the Enlisted Personnel
Management Directorate. After graduating from the Command and General Staff
College in 2000, he was assigned to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort
Irwin, California as the Regimental Training Officer, 2d Squadron (Infantry)
Operations Officer, and the Regimental Operations Officer. Rejoining the 3d
Armored Cavalry Regiment in 2002 at Fort Carson, Colorado, he served as the
Regimental Operations Officer and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi
Freedom. In 2004, he was assigned to US Northern Command's Standing Joint
Force Headquarters as an Interagency and Civil Support Planner. In 2006 he
was assigned as the Squadron Commander of 2d Squadron, 3d Armored
Cavalry Regiment at Fort Carson where he conducted a unit move to Fort Hood,
Texas in July 2006, where they deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom
07-09. He was then assigned to Maxwell Air Force Base in 2009 and attended
the US Air War College.
COL Calvert is a graduate of the Scout Platoon Leader's Course, the
Cavalry Leader's Course, the US Army Command and General Staff College,
and the US Air War College.
COL Calvert's awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal (3d
award); the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal
(5th award), the Air Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army
Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Badge,
and the Parachutist Badge.
COL Calvert is married; he and his wife have three daughters
