Colonel Michael D. Boyles commissioned Logistics as in Ordnance Officer upon graduation from Wentworth Military Academy and Junior College in 1999. COL Boyles has served in Artillery, Infantry, Stryker, and Armored formations. His first assignment was 19th Maintenance Battalion, Fort Sill, Oklahoma in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. After completion of the Logistics Captains Career Course, COL Boyles commanded Foxtrot Forward Support Company (direct support to 1st Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment), 204th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.
COL Boyles key staff assignments include service within 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. He served as the S4 in 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team in support of OPERATION SPARTAN SHIELD; Support Operations Officer and Executive Officer for 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team; Support Operations Officer for 4th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade in support of OPERATION ATLANTIC RESOLVE; Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4, 1st Armored Division in support of OPERATION ALLES WELCOME. J457, Chief of Exercises and Innovation, United States Indo-Pacific Command.
COL Boyles commanded 501st Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Armored Brigaded Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss Texas. COL Boyles remained with the Division serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4 in support of OPERATION ALLES WELCOME.
COL Boyles holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Oklahoma State, a Master of Science in Public Administration from Central Michigan State University, and a Master of Science in Joint Campaign Planning and Strategy from the Joint Advance Warfare School (JAWS), National Defense University. His awards include operational campaigns and overseas medals for Iraq and Southwest Asia.
