CSM Paul Gomez

First Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Paul D. Gomez is a native of San Antonio, Texas. He entered the United States Army on 11 March 2003, attended Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia where he earned the Military Occupational Specialty 94 Delta, Air Traffic Control Equipment Repairer.  

CSM Gomez’s previous assignments include, Charlie Company, 3-58th Aviation Regiment, Mannheim Germany where he served as an Air Traffic Services Equipment Repairer; Foxtrot Company, 2-4 General Support Aviation Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas as an ATS Maintenance Chief where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-10; Bravo Company, 73rd Ordnance Battalion, Fort Gordon, Georgia as an Instructor/Writer, Training Developer, and Advanced Individual Training Platoon Sergeant; The Air Traffic Services Command, Fort Rucker, Alabama as a Maintenance Evaluator and Senior Flight Inspection Technician; The 164th Theater Airfield Operations Group, Fort Rucker, Alabama as Detachment Sergeant for 597th Maintenance  Detachment; 1st Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky as a Senior Electronics Maintenance Chief and Headquarters and Headquarters Company First Sergeant; Army South, Joint  Base San Antonio, Texas as the Material Management Branch Noncommissioned Officer in Charge; Fort Lee, Virginia as the Tactical Support Equipment Department Sergeant Major and Chief Enlisted Career Manager for the United States Army Ordnance Corps; Command Sergeant Major for the 1st Cavalry  Division Special Troops Battalion Fort Hood, Texas where he supported Operation Atlantic Resolve and the 6th Brigade Support Battalion Command Sergeant Major for the 3rd Security Force Assistance Brigade Fort Hood, Texas where he deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. 

CSM Gomez is a graduate of the Basic Leaders Course (DL, CL), Advanced Leaders Course (CL), the Senior Leaders Course (DL) and the Unites States Army Sergeants Major Academy (CL). His military education also includes: Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, Family Advocacy Staff Training Course, Commanders Total Fitness Course, Basic Instructor Training Course, Systems Approach to Training Course, Combatives Level I Course, Battle Staff Course and he holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Troy University.    

CSM Gomez’s awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (5-OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3-OLC), Army Achievement Medal (W/C Device), Army Achievement Medal (5- OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Meritorious Unit Citation and Drivers Badge. He is also a recipient of the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe and a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Association. 
 
CSM Gomez and his wife Jennifer have two children, Alyssa (23) and Isaiah (22).
