COL Ricardo Jones is a native of Kansas City, Missouri. COL Jones graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri and commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer in December 2002.
COL Jones’ most recent assignment was Commander of the 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command. Other notable assignments include: Special Technical Operations (STO) Planner, Joint Staff J39, Military Assistant to the Army G4, GEN Gus Perna, Brigade Operations Officer, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Battalion Executive Officer, 27th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Logistics Advisor, Military Transition Team (MITT) 9th Mechanized Iraqi Division, Company Commander, 267th Quartermaster Company, 240th Quartermaster Battalion, 49th Quartermaster Group, Aide de Camp to the 50th Quartermaster General, BG Jesse Cross.
COL Jones’ has deployed five times in his military career: Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) June 2004-June 2005; Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) February 2007-May 2008; Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) June 2009-June 2010; Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) July 2012-July 2013; Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) September 2014-April 2015.
COL Jones’ military education and schools include Army War College, where he earned a Master of Strategic Studies, U.S. Army Command, and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Captains Career Course, and the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course.
COL Jones’ civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University.
COL Jones’ awards and decorations include: The Bronze Star Medal (three oak leaf clusters), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (two oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (one oak leaf clusters), Parachutist Badge, Combat Action Badge, Army Staff Identification Badge, and the Joint Staff Identification Badge.
COL Jones’ wife of 17 years is Amanda Jones. They have six children. Kyra is (21), Ricardo Jr is (15), Tremayne is (13), Christian is (4), Journey is (3) and Summer is (18 months old).
