Incoming Dagger Soldiers will sign in at the 1st Replacement Company located at 210 Custer Avenue on the main post.  Staff duty is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The duty uniform, ACUs, is the only authorized uniform upon arrival. It is important to hand-carry a copy of your medical, dental, and shot records, birth certificates, marriage license, insurance documents, divorce decree, and adoption documents if any. If you have questions contact (785) 239-2119 or (DSN) 856-2119.  The Area Code for DSN numbers is 312 when calling Fort Riley from OCONUS.

LEADERSHIP
Colonel Landgrave (Tom) Smith is a native of Norman, Oklahoma and entered the Army in May 2003 as an Armor officer.Previous operational assignments include serving as the commander, 4th Squadron, 10th U.S. Cavalry at Fort Carson, CO from 2019-2021, Brigade Operations Officer for 2ABCT, 1CD (Black Jack) at Fort Cavazos, TX, Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer for 1-5 CAV (Black Knights), Company Commander in 2-70 AR (Thunder) and 1-63 AR (Dragon), Brigade Chief of Operations 2ABCT, 1ID at Fort Riley Kansas, and Scout Platoon Leader and Troop XO in 3-7 CAV (Garry Owen) at Fort Stewart Georgia.Other assignments include Maneuver Captains Career Course (MCCC) small group leader at the Maneuver Center of Excellence, Armor Colonels Human Resource manager and Operations Officer at Senior Leader Development, Office of Colonels Management (SLD-COMO), and as the Division Chief, Global Integration Division under the Joint Staff J5 Deputy Directorate for Global Integration (DDGI). COL Smith graduated from the United States Military Academy with a degree in Political Science. He holds Master’s Degrees in National Security Strategy from the National War College and in Operational Studies and Military Science from the School of Advanced Warfighting, Marine Corps University.His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Ranger Tab, and Combat Action, Airborne, and Air Assault badges. His foreign military awards include the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. He is a recipient of the Order of Saint George and Order of Saint Maurice.COL Smith is married to the former Jessica Roth of Louisville, KY. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Alysa (15) and Kaitlyn (14).

CSM Long was born in Galveston, Texas, on April 17, 1980. He graduated from Texas City High School in Texas City, Texas, in 1998. CSM Long entered military service at Fort Knox, Kentucky, in September 1998, where he attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT). Upon completion of OSUT, he was awarded the MOS 19D, Cavalry Scout. CSM Long's duty stations include E Troop 1st CAV Sep, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Comanche 4/7 CAV, Camp Garry Owen, South Korea; HHC 1st ID, Wurzburg, Germany; HHT 2/16 CAV, Fort Knox, Kentucky; B Troop 5/4 CAV, Fort Riley, Kansas; Comanche 4/7 CAV and HHC BDE 1ABCT, Camp Hovey, South Korea; B HHBN, Camp Red Cloud, South Korea;  A 3/47 IN, D 1-81 AR, A Co 1-81 AR, and HHC BDE 194th AR BDE, Fort Benning, Georgia; 1-305th IN, Camp Shelby, Mississippi; Sergeant's Major Academy (2016-2017), Fort Bliss, Texas; 1-6 IN, Fort Bliss, Texas; Marion Military Institute (ROTC) in Marion, Alabama and 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry REGT (OPFOR). He has deployed to Iraq to support OIF 03-04, OIF 08-09, Kuwait, Iraq, and Jordan for OIR/ORR 17-18. His duty positions have consisted of Driver, Gunner, Ops Assistant, G3 Plans NCOIC, Retention NCO, Instructor/Writer, Senior Training Management NCO, Resilience Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, OC/T, Operations Sergeant Major, Chief Military Science Instructor (CMSI) and Battalion CSM. He has performed duties as a Unit Prevention Leader (UPL), Equal Opportunity Leader (EOL), Resilience Trainer, SHARP NCO, and Army Recruiter.
