CW5 Brad Ash

First Infantry Division 1st Combat Aviation Brigade Chief Warrant Officer

Chief Warrant Officer Five Brad Ash is a native of Glendale, Oregon. After attending Basic Training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma in 2004, CW5 Ash graduated from the Army Warrant Officer Candidate School and was appointed to the rank of WO1. He completed Initial Entry Rotary Wing training and obtained an advanced qualification as a UH-60A pilot in 2005.

Mr. Ash’s previous assignments include Brigade Aviation Maintenance  Officer, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, Ft Riley; UH-60 Warrant Officer Career Manager, Human Resources Command (HRC), Fort Knox Kentucky; Directorate of Evaluations and Standardization (DES) UH-60A/L/M Maintenance Examiner Fort Novosel, Alabama; Battalion Aviation Maintenance Officer, 2-1 General Support Aviation Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas; Military Personnel Exchange Program (MPEP) 6th Aviation Regiment, Australian Defence Force (ADF) Holsworthy Barracks, New South Wales, Australia; Battalion Aviation Maintenance Officer 1-52 General Support Aviation Battalion, Fort Wainwright, AK; Maintenance Test Pilot, 3-227 Assault Helicopter Battalion, Fort Cavazos, TX. His combat and operational experience includes one deployment to Afghanistan, two deployments to Iraq, and one EUCOM rotation.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Project Management and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His military education includes the Warrant Officer Senior Service Course, the UH-60 Instructor Pilot Course, the UH-60 Maintenance Test Pilot Course, and qualification courses in the UH-60M and  S70A-9. 

His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal -2, the Meritorious Service Medal - 5, the Air Medal - 2, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the NATO Medal.  Mr. Ash has also earned the Army Master Aviator Badge and the Australian Army Aviator Badge.

He is married to the former Ms. Mary Pope. They have a 26 year old daughter, Kristen, 20 year old daughter Kortney and a 18 year old son, Kolton.
