The Big Red One Year of the NCO is the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley’s program to further develop our NCO Corps and recognize their contributions, both personal and professional, to the 1st Infantry Division. The Big Red One recognizes the importance of our NCO Corps. NCO’s education, fitness and leadership development are enhanced through 1st Infantry Division initiatives and events. We recognize our NCO’s commitment to service and their willingness to make sacrifices on behalf of our nation. Big Red One NCOs are the pride of the First Infantry Division.

HHBN Change of Command

U.S. Army Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, held a change of command and relinquishment of responsibility ceremony, June 21, 2023, at the Fort Riley, Kansas, Cavalry Parade Field. U.S. Army Lt. Col. John C. Hatley, the outgoing battalion commander of HHBN, 1st Inf. Div., passed command to Lt. Col. Derek J. Raymond, Command Sgt. Maj.
