The Big Red One Year of the NCO is the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley’s program to further develop our NCO Corps and recognize their contributions, both personal and professional, to the 1st Infantry Division. The Big Red One recognizes the importance of our NCO Corps. NCO’s education, fitness and leadership development are enhanced through 1st Infantry Division initiatives and events. We recognize our NCO’s commitment to service and their willingness to make sacrifices on behalf of our nation. Big Red One NCOs are the pride of the First Infantry Division.

U.S. Army Culinary Specialists with the 1st Infantry Division competed in a cooking competition at the Cantigny Dining Facility, June 6, 2023 on Fort Riley, Kansas. The chefs had two hours to create an appetizer and entrée, and were graded on taste, creativity, presentation of food, plating technique, and ingredient incorporation. (U.S. Army video by Spc.
